Clifford Bonnet works with the medical practice to develop business strategies, manage budgets and oversee day-to-day operations (scheduling, billing, collections, etc.). He also ensures the business needs of the practice are met and actively work to recruit new patients.

At Hyde Park Health Associates (HPHA), we not only want to be your primary care provider, we want to be your medical home. HPHA offers board certified physicians and nurse practitioners who can manage all of your health care and wellness needs. We are a multilingual health practice that delivers culturally based medical service. We believe in providing you with a continuous, personal provider relationship; delivering care for not only your illness, but also your wellness. HPHA has been serving Hyde Park, Mattapan and the surrounding communities since 2001.

We use a fully integrated Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system (eClinical Works) to ensure you the best quality of care. Advanced nurse care managers are also utilized to follow our moderate and complex patients more carefully. HPHA also incorporates spiritual healing as a point of care to help treat the entire patient. We strive to use all resources possible to work with you to achieve the best healthcare possible.

Weight Loss Surgery Improves Diabetes.

Losing weight is key in controlling type 2 diabetes – and now there is evidence that suggests weight loss surgery (also called bariatric surgery) may help reverse type 2 diabetes. A 2014 study published in The New England Journal of Medicine compared the blood glucose levels of obese people with uncontrolled type 2 diabetes in three treatment groups:​ 

  1. Patients who had gastric bypass (a type of weight loss surgery) and medical therapy (including lifestyle counseling, weight management, blood glucose monitoring and medication).

  2. Patients who had sleeve gastrectomy (a type of weight loss surgery) and medical therapy.

  3. Patients who received medical therapy alone (lifestyle management, medications, carbohydrate controlled meal planning and exercise).


After one year, patients in the weight loss surgery groups were far more successful in controlling blood sugar and reducing or eliminating the need for insulin than patients who had medical therapy alone  < --- Click here to read the full article
